About

I have a background in law, and my current work revolves around legal personhood for nonhuman animals. I also care about helping society prepare for the challenges posed by increasingly capable AI. In particular, I am interested in whether future AI systems might themselves deserve moral consideration, as well as the risks of both over- and under-attributing moral status to them. For this reason, I am currently expanding my work into AI welfare research.

Alongside this work, I am the Research Editor at the ILINA Program.
